'Get Tri Ready' Swim Course (4 group sessions)
£65
This 'Get Tri Ready' swim course consists of 4 group sessions and have a max of 8 people. All sessions are open water sea swimming in the sheltered bay of Ballygally beach. There is a carpark with toilets and outdoor shower. The nearby shop can provide hot/cold refreshments.
This course is aimed at those who have triathlons or open water racing in mind but have limited open water experience. We will look at body position, breathing, sighting and stroke efficiency. Progressing into race craft. This will involve pack swimming, drafting, buoy turns, water starts etc. Learn how to utilize other swimmers around you, not fear them! Gain confidence in the water and 'Get Tri Ready'.
Participants must be competent and capable of minimum 300metres continuous swimming in deep open water.
Everyone's safety and enjoyment are paramount. It may be the case that on occasion, due to adverse weather, sessions need to be postponed to following week. Any course cancellations must be at least 48 hours before session/course start to receive a refund. All courses are 4 x 1-hour sessions.
All participants must have tow floats. Swim caps will be provided and are yours to keep.

Improver Course (4 Group Sessions)
£65
These Improver group sessions will have a max of 6 people and run over 4 sessions (45min each). Please make contact to express your interest as these sessions usually become fully booked.
They are aimed at swimmers with some open water experience who want to improve their technique, speed, distance and stamina.
We will look at body position, breathing, sighting and stroke efficiency. The session will involve training drills and sets, followed by a deep-water swim (minimum 300m).
For those who have triathlons or open water racing in mind, I run a masterclass. Where as well as the above drills, we can look at pack swimming, drafting, buoy turns, water starts etc. Swimmers must be competent and capable of minimum 500metres in open water for the Masterclass course.

Introduction To Open Water (4 group sessions)
£65
Each of the sessions will have a combination of land and water-based safety information. Meeting in the carpark we will cover various topics including reading and understanding weather forecasts and its effects on the water, rip currents and tides. We cover these topics and more before we go into the water each week. The course will be fun, light-hearted but informative. Your day and time slot will be the same each week. All participants will receive a Streamlined Open Water silicone swim cap.

I know some of you prefer to swim in skins (without wetsuit). This is fine and totally your choice. Although if you have a wetsuit I would recommend you wear it so you can relax and reduce the chance of cold being an issue. Please get in touch if you have any questions. If you have any problems sourcing kit let me know as I stock all the relevant equipment.
